Alice River Anglers Inc. was formed in January 2000 by a few locals who could see the potential and benefit of such a club in the Alice River area.
Membership is also extended to residents in the local area.
During the past twenty years we have continued to grow in membership exceeding all expectations through our fishing and social activities.
Membership starts at the beginning of each year, but you can join the club at any time.

Fishing competitions are held every 3-4 weeks from early February to early November. The dates of each competition are set by the committee members at the start of the year and will be distributed to members in the way of a documented fishing calendar.
Competition weigh ins are held at the Alice River Anglers club house situated in the Progress Hall Progress Road, Rupertswood. Weigh in time is 4pm – 5pm SHARP on the Sunday afternoon. (Or Monday if a long weekend) A free sausage sizzle is held after competitions with drinks and alcohol available. We hold General Meetings of the club throughout the year after weigh ins, where feedback is welcomed from members.
The member with the heaviest fish weighed in on each competition weekend receives a prize on the day. Comp is senior (male and female eligible) and there is a separate ladies comp. The under 16 and under 10’s also receive a prize and all points from the weigh in tally up at the end of the year and are rewarded at our Christmas Party and presentation Night. Bonus points are also awarded for nominated fish species each month. Champion Senior Angler of the year has the honour of having their name on the Rupertswood General Store Annual Perpetual Trophy.
